| make sure an exhaust valve is open, reconnect PTU and crank engine. ***BLAMMO*** At least that's how it worked on my old 2-stroke street bike. Only it wouldn't start and I kicked it over a couple hundred times, then started messing with the points. Of course I had left the ignition on.... Closed the set of points going to the cylider with the piston on the downstroke. Exhaust full of air-fuel mixture + spark in cylinder + pathway to exhaust = big explosion. And of course I had my head right there next to the expansion chamber and carbs(no airbox only K&N filter), for a second I was in shock, no idea of what had just happened. Then I looked behind the bike and saw the baffle from the expansion chamber sailing thru the air. Right towards a mint '67 Camaro being pulled onto a car trailler. It was broadside to me and about 20-30 yards away. There were 4 guys and all of them were frozen and transfixed by the huge explosion and the baffle flying towards the car..... It hit the ground and bounced a few times and landed just short of the Camaro's door. I got some seriously pissed off guys yelling shit at me as I went over and sheepishly picked up my baffle, of course I couldn't hear a word they were saying because of the ringing in my ears.
